Welcome to Mistys Motorcycle Plates! A division of Mistys Motorcycles, we are a DVLA registered company and on the RNPS to manufacture quality road legal number plates to the general public and trades. We are passionate bikers who understand the need for high-quality motorcycle registration plates. Operating in South Lincolnshire, we take pride in manufacturing both road legal printed, 3D Gel and 4D Acrylic plates and custom show plates for off road use.

Our road legal UK number plates are governed by law given by the DVLA, which outlines specific requirements that must be met for your plates to be compliant. Here are some of the aspects:

• Materials and Size: Plates must conform to British Standard BS AU 145e. This standard ensures that number plates are made from durable materials that are also reflective for visibility in low light conditions. Size must be correct for the type of vehicle, the font used and how many digits.

• Font, Spacing and Borders: Only DVLA approved font is allowed on number plates Charles Wright 2001. The font is designed for clarity and readability, ensuring they can be easily read by other drivers and law enforcement, using 3D and 4D digits can be legal as long as they follow the standards of font and being 1 solid colour black. The spacing of characters on the plates is also strictly regulated—altering the spacing can lead to confusion and misinterpretation, resulting in fines. Borders can be black on the plate but no slogan is allowed to stay within the law.

• Front and Rear Plates:

  • Front Plate: Must feature black characters on a white background.

  • Rear Plate: Must display black characters on a yellow background.

• Bank or building society statement from the last 6 months

2. Proof of Entitlement (Choose One)

This proves you are allowed to use the registration number.

• Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C or V5CNI)

• New keeper slip (green slip from the V5C)

• Certificate of Entitlement (V750 or V750NI)

• Retention Document (V778)

• Vehicle tax or SORN reminder (V11 or V11NI)

• Temporary registration certificate (V379)

• Number plate authorisation certificate (V948 or eV948) stamped by the DVLA

• Letter of authorisation from a fleet operator or lease company
